BOE News

April 24, 2008

Tonight the BOE selected its president and VP. Nagy was selected as president in a five to four vote. Nagy and LaCorte were nominated.
Voting for Nagy - Unger, Mettler, Holzheimer, Pietrucha, Nagy
Voting for LaCorte - Beals, Burnstein, Burns, Lacorte

Holzheimer was selected as VP unopposed 9-0.

What is most surprising is that Unger and Mettler ran with LaCorte when they were elected to the BOE and in direct opposition to the practices of their predecessors which included Ms. Nagy. Unger also supported the outside review when he ran for office yet when it came to a vote Unger voted against it.

The current status of the outside independent review is that Mr. Seto and staff are currently working on specifications so it can be put out for bid. We are expecting and update at the next BOE meeting on May 1st.

A final personal note, a few people have commented that TUF did not run its traditional candidate's forum this year. Some even wondered if this was some kind of strategy. I can assure you it was not. The simple reason was that I was out of the country during the election. While I had access to the Internet I was not in position to run the forum. Nor was I inclined to announce to the world that I was away.

I guess TUF should be gratified that the community now has a level of expectation for it.
