You'll notice that there are 4 Democratic running in the 4th Ward indicating a primary battle. Carl Wright was selected by his party over Mr. Thompson and Mr. Tibbs. Thus Mr. Wright has the party line. Ms. Presley did not screen for the position.
The primary is for all candidates, even those without challengers and is on June 2nd.
Disclaimer You'll note that TUF's Phil Kramer is running for Council. Six years ago when TUF's Chip Hoever ran for Council I, Phil Kramer took over the directorship of TUF because my now friend Mike Orsini postulated that TUF would become a campaign platform for Chip. This time however there will be no changes in TUF. By that I mean prior to the election there will be NO changes. Though I will remain on TUF I will NOT use TUF as my campaign platform. Other than this disclaimer there will be no preference given to anyone's campaign. I will give no opinions on any of the candidates. I will continue to cover Franklin political issues as I've always tried to do. Furthermore I am inviting my good friend Bob Mettler to post whenever and whatever he wishes on TUF.
I do this because I believe that TUF is too important a voice to silence for the seven months of the campaign. I will try but cannot promise to get others to cover issues as they come to light. Finally I call on you, the readers of TUF, to hold my feet to the fire and let me know if I wander from the course I set.
Thank you for your indulgence
Phil Kramer
