Dear Mr. Hoever and Mr. Kramer
Councilwoman Ashley-Williams acceptance of a position in Washington, D.C., while maintaining her seat on the Council in Franklin, will no doubt be challenge for her. The Councilwoman, though, has assured me that her performance will not suffer as a result of this move.
Our position with regard to this is to give the Councilwoman every opportunity to show that she can indeed maintain a high standard of service to the Franklin residents and no one will suffer as a result of this. There are many instances among other elected officials, at all level of government, who have successfully be able to juggle this type of situation.
We are confident that if the Councilwoman finds that she cannot perform her duties in the manner previously mentioned, that she will voluntarily resign her position. Her performance will be the ultimate factor by which she will be judged and we have every expectation that there will be no cause for concern in that regard.
Sincerely,
Rozalyn Sherman
Chairman Franklin Township Democratic Committee
