The Chairman of the Democratic Party Distributed False Information

The Chairman of the Democratic Party distributed false information to members of his party. In a letter dated October 26, 2005 addressed from William Grippo's home and signed as "Bill", Mr. Grippo indicated that the Police and Fire Departments have endorsed Democratic candidates. What's the truth? Who did they endorse? The actual truth is that they endorsed NO ONE.

Why didn't the police department endorse anyone, we believe it's because the Chief of Police wants to keep his job. We talked with Kenneth Daly, Franklin Township Manager who said "The Township and the Police Department make no endorsements." Now in fairness some might say that Mr. Grippo meant that the PBA endorsed Democrats and we admit that perhaps Mr. Grippo was just careless but he included the Fire Departments (FD) (Franklin has four separate departments serving different areas). Mr. Daly was unaware of an FD equivalent of the PBA. We also asked a member of the East Millstone FD who has lived in East Millstone since birth and has been a member of the FD all of his adult life. He does not recall the FD ever endorsing anyone and does not know of a method by which they would choose whom to endorse. In his own words, "That's political, we don't do that."

Most of the copy of the letter that we show is blanked out because we are not in the business of circulating campaign literature for one group.
