Calls For
Televising BOE, Planning and Zoning Board Meetings

In August 2005 TUF asked the BOE to televise their meetings on their cable channel 14. Initially they said no, then they said they were looking into it. Despite months of TUF's asking at every action meeting, they are still looking.

In March TUF started publicly calling for the Zoning and Planning Board meetings to be televised. We had long expected this since it was a frequent topic of discussion at FTTV's volunteer meeting and because the winter edition of the "Franklin Times" stated it was planned. We were surprised when the February meeting of the PR committee failed to even discuss it.

Now the Democrat JFK club is also calling for televising these meetings. We'd like to think that TUF's actions influenced their actions but we have no information on that. As we understand it all members of the JFK club that were present voted yes EXCEPT Councilwoman Eberly who did not vote. Mr. Raymond Betterbid, President of the JFK club, has been good enough to provide us with copies of the letters he sent to the two organizations.
