In April of 2003 and in response to what some considered a high tax burden Chip Hoever formed Taxpayers United in Franklin (TUF). After the November elections Gary Brill, a member of Franklin's Children First (broken link)(FCF), approached TUF to consider joining a group that came to be known as The Franklin Coalition (broken link) (FC or the Coalition). The Coalition consists primarily of members from FCF and TUF. What Started the Rally
It has occurred to members of the Coalition that members of our state legislature believe that there is no public outcry for tax reform. "No one is beating a path to my door to complain about taxes."
