PROPERTY TAX RALLY 2004

A brief history

In April of 2003 and in response to what some considered a high tax burden Chip Hoever formed Taxpayers United in Franklin (TUF). After the November elections Gary Brill, a member of Franklin's Children First (broken link)(FCF), approached TUF to consider joining a group that came to be known as The Franklin Coalition (broken link) (FC or the Coalition). The Coalition consists primarily of members from FCF and TUF.

What Started the Rally

It has occurred to members of the Coalition that members of our state legislature believe that there is no public outcry for tax reform. "No one is beating a path to my door to complain about taxes." It's time to get our message across to them. Property Taxes are too high.

So, To that end FC, TUF and FCF (with the blessing of the BOE) are holding a rally on
