Council to Chose a Replacement
For
Brian Regan

3/8/07
Update 03/20/07

Update - The Council Selected Dan Glicklick. TUF believes this is an excellent choice. Dan's long experience in government will be a great asset to the Township. Frankly if it were up to me he'd have been my choice. - Phil Kramer.

Unfortunately one of the best Councilmen TUF has seen, Brian Regan, has resigned from Council. The demands of his job had increased to the point that he was concerned that he was not able to do his council position justice. As the law states, because Regan is a Democrat, the Democrats chose three candidates to replace him. On March 13th, the council will now pick one from those three. The three are:

  • Joseph Danielsen
  • Dan Glicklick
  • Phillip Kramer

The Candidates

No, your new Vista operating system is not playing tricks with your monitor, the D's have nominated Phil as one of the three potential Council candidates. Over the last several years since he has gotten involved in TUF he has gone to most Council meeting and most Board of Education meetings. He has learned a tremendous amount on how local government works (and doesn't work) and he has learned a lot from the others selected as candidates. While Phil may not be the most "seasoned" candidate, he certainly has the intelligence to serve the people of Franklin very well. (This paragraph by Chip Hoever)

As you read on be aware that the rest of this article is written by Phil Kramer so filter out bias as you read.

Joe Danielsen is a long time resident of Franklin, a volunteer fire fighter who has served in the military and for many years on the planning board. He's smart, knows the Franklin political landscape well and I will personally vouch for his integrity. His actions were instrumental in the reforming of the Democratic party in Franklin.

Dan Glicklick is new to Franklin. He comes to us from North Plainfield were he served for several years on their Council including as Council President. His political experience is impressive as is his knowledge of land use. He too was deeply involved in the reform movement. I've learned a lot about government from Dan and also has the highest of integrety.
