34 High Ranking Democrats

Write a Letter Asking

Ritchie to Resign

(Their Letter)

Ms. Ritchie initially stated that the recall was about Chip Hoever attempting to obtain her position on council. When Mr. Hoever announced that he is not seeking office she changed her story and sent out a letter to the third ward stating that it is Republicans attempting to take over her seat. We quote from her letter

All the while she knew the truth, many of the people involved with the recall are Democrats that do not approve of her actions. Several Democratic Committee members have now signed their own letter asking for Ms. Ritchie to resign and supporting the recall. Their purpose is to make it clear that the recall is a nonpartisan effort that is not about party politics but is about bringing government back to the people.

To be clear, the Democrats that signed this letter are not merely people that registered as Democrats. They are people deeply involved with the party, the people who select who will run on the Democratic ticket or other high ranking Democrats. They include several high ranking members of party; former Mayor, Councilmen, Ward Chairs and Committee Chairs.

One final point this is not an official action of the Democratic Municipal Committee however, just as there was no official Democratic Municipal Committee effort to oust Bill Grippo this represents a grass roots movement of a significant portion of the Democrats to reform both the party and Franklin's government. Credit goes to the Democrats involved for holding community over Committee.
