TAKE THE TUF QUIZ Blighted - Not Blighted, can you tell the difference? One requirement for the Township to use eminent domain (ED) is that the area in question has to be designated as blighted. Who has the power to do that? The Township does. Block 123 in the Rt. 27 Redevelopment area has been declared blighted. We present pictures of six houses. You decide which you would call blighted. Then choose which are owned by the Township.
TUF is often criticized for pointing out problems without solutions. Here's one. Council, if you want to help this area as you claim, don't expand redevelopment/eminent domain into it. Revitalize it.
