TUF is please to provide a new (10/29/05) feature to its site called "In their Own Words" but perhaps we should call it "In Their Own Words (and a few of ours)". We are starting this page in response to many of the comments, both good and bad, that we have heard at Township meetings. We will play back some of the things that are said at times letting the words stand on their own but more often then not we will either make our own comment or juxtapose one person's comments with another, while keeping them in context.
If you speak during the public portions of the meeting rest easy we are not out to mock a slip of the tongue or even a comment that someone makes and then realizes later was poor judgment. We will however publish comments of people whose repeated behavior demonstrates a mindset that warrants scrutiny.
This is an experiment both technically and philosophically. Going against our policy of never removing anything from our site we reserve the right to do so if we run into storage or bandwidth problems.
One more rule, TUF will offer to anyone who is featured in this section the opportunity for rebuttal as long as it is civil and would not put TUF in legal jeopardy. So now we introduce "In Their Own Words"...
