beTUF.org Taxpayers United in Franklin Township

Crossroads

We are at a crossroads in Franklin. The development associated with the fair share plan will effect Franklin taxes and lifestyles for decades. Many of the subscribers on the TUF list write us complaining about taxes, traffic and overdevelopment but to make a difference, to effect change you have to help. All we ask now is that you show up at meetings and if you are inclined to speak out then do so. This is your government and your town but only if you want it to be. You can stay at home and boil over every time you get your tax bill or you can come out now, voice your opinion to the council and BOE and make change. Then if that does work you will know who listened to you and who didn't and can vote them out. The choice is yours. Spend the time now or pay the taxes later.

At the time of this writing (Feb 4th 2006 2:30 AM) Fair share and BOE over site are the current issues. At the time you read the issues may have changed. If they haven't changed yet, they will. Jefferson warned us that the price of liberty is eternal vigilance. The are also those that want to divert the system to their benifit. If you want to prevent that then you have to be involved, now, later and after that. All they need to win is for you to not show up. They can't stop all of us. The choice is yours ...

To help you should join our email list. We NEVER give out your email address and have in the past only sent out about 12-15 emails a year. You can volunteer to help, we occasionally have tasks that would take you only a few hours.

Feb 4 2006 - We need you at the BOE meeting at 7:30 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2006, at the Franklin Middle School (old high school) auditorium. We will again be asking for the BOE to allow a independent operational review of their $116 million dollar budget. They need to hear it from someone else.
